Schools: Creative writing workshops with smaller groups or with classes, through to whole school assemblies (keeping in mind the recommended reading age of 14+).​​

Workshops: I can offer a variety of writing and craft workshops, inspired by my novel, that will inspire your students (see examples below). All workshops can be adapted according to class needs and with time to prepare in advance.​

• Writing Workshop: 'Chasing Utopia'

  • Emas was initiated in an attempt to create the perfect sanctuary. Of course, one person's utopia is usually another's dystopia. In this workshop we will explore the participant's idea of utopia before digging into them to find the problems and conflict that will lead us to a story.

• Craft Workshop: 'Bringing Outside In'

  • In the novel, Naya is overwhelmed by the vastness, colours, and movements of the sky. Her city is amazing and her best friend, but the ceiling that covered her head her entire life could not compare. In this workshop, bring a little bit of that night sky into your home. We will use paper bags to create stars that can then be decorated to suit each person's individuality.
